chocolate chip cookies of course,the nice warm chewy kind,the one thing that will get my attention quicker than anything else is the smell of chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven,I am such a sucker for those and if you have to have one vice..I can't think of a better one.
I was chuckling to myself as I was reading your post about the policemen being reprimanded for using a riot shield as a sled,couldn't think of a better use for them and I can imagine that that must've been quite a sight to see those three police officers sliding down the hill on riot shields,just goes to show were all kids at heart....
pnc66,I really like the idea of the meditating and healing garden that you speak of,I think it is interesting that some hospitals not only realize that not only is there a need for the physical healing but also the mental and spiritual healing..The mental,spiritual and physical healing works hand-in-hand..

I agree about the Riot shield, what a perfect use for it especially as oddly riots in Oxford are rather... shall we say rare... Not too many Oxford Dons rioting in our Medievall streets , even Student protests are quite well humoured on the whole !
Today we remember the birth of a remarkable individual, he was a man ahead of his time and his dreams are still alive today for all people of all races and all beliefs, as a young man I had the fortunate pleasure of being present among the crowd of people on that 28th day in August of 1963 when he stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC and delivered his famous speech, "I Have a Dream" it was at that moment that those of us that were present when the speech was delivered knew that we were in the presence of an exceptional individual, it is a day that I have long remembered and will never forget.

I have to have a biopsy on my right breast Monday and even though the doc cannot say that I have cancer until the results come back, he told me that because of the way things looked, it's highly likely. I've not had any health issues in my life and I'm kind of scared at this point.
I need prayers for healing and how to be patient while waiting for results as I'm not the most patient person even though I have no choice but to wait.

Songinthewind, I hear you myfriend and am praying for negative results from your biopsy..I also hear your drum ever so faintly but so profoundly each time I enter this sacred circle for renewal..and I always think of you..

Osayo, my brothers and sisters, today was a very important day for me, today was a day that I put myself into the very capable hands of some very young and very bright individuals and it is necessary that I do this, these individuals are specialists within their fields,the first one was a young lady who is a nurse practitioner and when listening to my heart heard something that she was concerned about and decided to have an echocardiogram done the results of which found that the aortic valve in my heart was not operating properly, the second one is a young lady who is a very capable cardiologist, who has impressed upon me the seriousness of this condition and said it was critical and who tomorrow morning is going to do a catheterization to determine just how critical it is and then there is the heart surgeon who is going to perform the open heart surgery on me to correct what has been determined to be a birth defect with the aortic valve, so by the end of this week I will have had this open heart surgery done and if all goes well and The Creator looks favorably upon me I will continue my Earth Walk until such time he sees fit for me to come home and sit among my ancestors. So for the next few days I will be preparing myself for this journey that these very young and capable people will help me through and I pray that The Creator will guide their young hands as we take this journey.osay

We went through this two years ago. Feb 15, 2008 Annemieke had a mastectomy.
Some things to remember. 1) Breasts do NOT define you as a woman. 2) Fear can kill you.....treat the disease with humor along with the rest of the stuff they use to treat it. 3) breast cancer is NOT the automatic death sentence it once was......treatments are far better today then they were just a few short years ago. 4) bald is liberating. 5) from a guy's standpoint, bald is beautiful.
Keep us informed, and remember, when depression sets in, its gonna get better.
BTW, Annemieke says she has a new chinese name....."onehung low".......put a smile on your face and keep it there.....no matter how much it hurts. If you want to talk to her, DM Annemieke or me for her phone number.

Some people will do anything to get to lay around in a hospital, surrounded by sweet nurses................
