How does ANYONE take away your right to believe something?

You said "It is the same as the atheist who will take away my right to spiritual beliefs." I'm really curious. What atheist is trying to take away your spiritual beliefs? How is it possible for anybody to take away something that is entirely within your own mind? How's that work?

Phetaroi, I am not anti-Christian. I was raised Catholic. There are Catholic religious in my family. There are also Christians who blend faiths with Paganism. They call themselves Christo-Pagans. I am not a Christo-Pagan either but it is not wrong in anyway for me to respect Christianity. It builds a better world when we can be respectful of each other and let people walk the paths they choose. Atheism is not tolerant of other religions or spiritual traditions that it considers "superstitious." I am not Atheist. My path is the Sacred Feminine found in myths all over the world. Myths that existed long before a male dominated Christian religion. You can hate on Christians if you like. Thats your thing then, not mine.

It think that when a person shares a belief and then the response to that belief is critical, they see it as taking away their right to believe.

Ah! Yet another who, when he doesn't get the answers he wants, has to flounce out, tossing his hair. Well get this. New atheism has arrived whether you like it or not. Get used to it.

Oh...and mind the door doesn't hit you in the arse as you are leaving.
I got the answers. They did change my thinking. I don't respect New Atheism. I haven't seen any reason to.

That bit of snark at the end.... so predictable of your camp.

That could be. I guess for some religious people (not referring to OP necessarily) their identity is wrapped around their religious beliefs. So it probably does feel like a personal attack. I remember having some of those issues when I was inside the sect. There has to be a way around that.

Did you watch the Sam Harris videos? I'm interested in your take on it.

Mensaguy that was a poor choice of words. I am sorry I said it that way. New Atheism which is a movement within atheism seeks to eradicate religion entirely. You are correct they cannot take our beliefs, they are trying to remove religion and spirituality from being out in the open. That concerns the rights of any person of any faith or spiritual tradition.

This is your perspective. It is not fact.
