Are you so misinformed on this topic, Sarene, that you don't know that Obama is the one who asked Bush Jr. and Clinton to step up to the plate to do this? It's a bipartisan effort to duplicate what Clinton and Bush Sr. did for a few years back to help after the tsunami. But then 'bipartisan' seems to be a word that is missing from a lot of people's vocabulary involved in this Haiti discussion.

He did a lot of good work in Africa while President. Because he didn't get a lot of press for this work it has often gone unnoticed. Perhaps he can do good work in Haiti too.
Despite being a miserable failure of a president, I give him thumbs up and I'm sure he can be useful on something like this. (plus, one of the few good things I remember of his presidency was his initiative to help Africa)
He's only going because most don't have shoes to throw.
Not to make light of the devastation in Haiti, I gotta admit, that DID make me laugh.
