Some argue that our "donation" is through our tax dollars. I lean toward agreeing with that view.

I thought of it as I felt pretty sad watching the devastation on TV.

Then when Obama pledged $100 million, I know I won't have to. He's taking taxpayer $ to make donations on my behalf. So, no I'm not donating -- it's being done for me already.

A lot of people donate $ because they want to "DO SOMETHING". It's a natural reaction. I just hope all that $ is going to get used efficiently.

Do I feel guilty not donating? No. Do I wish I could do something? Of course, because I know more $ is not the solution to Haiti's problem.

Yes, taxpayers are already making a big donation. I'd rather donate through responsible charities, because for all our government's nation building in Haiti under the Clintons, it sure didn't improve. I think a lot of the money we give is going to go straight into the bank accounts of a wealthy few.

I voted I don't know because I'm seeing alot about the monies that have been sent in the past and are unaccounted for. I watched the interview that was done with the "Doctors Without Walls" and they are able to account for money donated to them, but it is a very small amount. Apparently there is huge corruptionon on the island and Haiti has not had to be accountable for it. They are going to recieve billions from everyone when it's over. I can't imagine (hehe) where Obamas is getting the 100 million he initially donated from the U.S.A.. I believe the island is getting alot of help from Pat Robertson whom told the world that God sent the earthquake because Haiti is so sinful (now that's ludicrous), something about vodoo. Robertson and his crew can have God as their accountant but the money we donated; I want to see some accountability

Already have via Catholic Charities. They've been on the ground in Haiti for years, have a great network and infrastructure, are supported by the entire CC organization and with them I'm confident about where my money is going. With so much corruption in Haiti that last point is important.

I already did. I donated $10 to the Red Cross, and I specified it to go to Haiti. I make less than $10 an hour at my job, so I would give more if I could. Regardless of how everyone feels, this is a horrible, devastating situation that these people are going through, and we need to help them. I remember seeing an article that the people there were eating cookies made out of dirt to survive MONTHS before this happened. My heart goes out to everyone in Haiti.
