I don't consider myself a person of the left or the right, but I voted for Obama so I suppose that's close enough to answer your question.

My perfect world wouldn't cost you a dime, in fact we'd save trillions. Cut the military budget to the level needed to defend the homeland. Not a dime for anything else anywhere else, ever. Mind our own business in foreign affairs.

You know, what was until the '60s considered a conservative foreign policy?

I used to feel we needed bases in all those countries to protect our interests and our hosts' safety, and they have been necessary, but I feel now we can respond to any crisis almost instantly, anywhere on earth -- many are necessary but we should cut way back. Stay ahead of the curve in technology and hardware but no need to keep expanding forthe sake of expansion/because lawmakers are afraid to say no, like some kinda socialist federal program.
The only crisis, outside of the United States of America, that our military should respond to is in 2 situations- a natural disaster has hit a nation and the legitimate government of the nation has requested our assistance in helping. We will come and help gladly and stay for no longer than 60 days.
The second situation is if NATO or the United Nations decide that something is serious enough to warrant international intervention. We will send our FAIR SHARE of support to that mission but we will not be the "weight lifter" bench pressing all the weight while the rest of the UN or NATO act as a "helium birthday balloon" tied to the barbells. And the NATO or UN mission must be clear, defined and the end game in sight.

I saw it in a cartoon after The Idiot (W) came on TV and said "we have 23 nations in Iraq with us". Right. We sent 140,000 soldiers and the other 23 nations sent about 20,000 among ALL of them- including the 8 cooks Jamaica sent!

Darn. I heard a Catholic pastor say the same thing on EWTN!

Wow. Far cry from a coalition, for sure. I'd laugh if it weren't so tragic.

Yes, I think that all you libs who advocate these pointless expensive programs should put your money where your mouth is and actually pay SOMETHING, ANYTHING for these things you want. Your lack of financial sacrifice for these programs validates your lack of conviction and dedication to your causes. In short, you are frauds. You will not do anything, except complain, to support these positions. No voluntary work and no financial contributions. False "conscience" is cheap- libs feel better about whining, but only the conservatives roll up thier sleeves and actually work and contribute financially. Don't ***** to me about the things you want. I wanted things when I was poor but did not whine about it.

I count my blessings every day and thank God for my life, despite a rather rough start. I was born with a plastic spoon in my mouth, to quote The Who. Thank God I did not digest the liberal great society crap, or I would be poor. I wonder how many people did not dodge a bullet and were convinced of the mindless rhetoric of these leftist idiots.

I was a poor white trash kid. I saw liberalism from a unique perspective, in that a liberal cannot understand how a trailer trash thug can be intelligent. They are focused on class separation and only "associate" with the poor to assuage thier liberal guilt. The libs want to bury the poor and keep them there. Had I listened to you twits as a kid, I would be an auto mechanic or factory worker (I tested high for proclivity in auto mechanics, which is probably why I collect old cars now). The guidance counselor, a lib, brought me in to discuss his displeasure at my getting a full ride academic scholarship at one school and a half atheletic/academic scholarship at another. "I thought we had agreed that you would consider a trade apprenticeship or trade school". The twit looked at my discipline record and the fact that I was trailer trash and was completely unaware that I had a 35 ACT score and had straight "A"s. That is the liberal mind at work. Keep the peasants down and make them dependent. They are little people and do not understand the complexities of liberalism. That day, I became a conservative. A poor one, but a conservative, as I realized these people were out of thier minds.
Lol, Im not poor, sorry.

Im sure you know that the wealthiest and best educated areas of the US voted for Obama, and continue to support him.

? I didnt ***** to you about the things I want, what are you talking about?

? "Pay something, anything for the things you want" - do you think "libs" dont pay taxes? "No voluntary work", etc. - are you insane?

Wow, you donate over $100K to charity every year, and you pay $500K in taxes? So before taxes you "earn" over a million dollars each year, year in and year out, and you're still complaining that you dont have enough money?

Im sorry if you're still upset about your guidance counselor

Obviously, you dont count your blessings. You prove it in every whining post. Maybe you're projecting about people -- or shadows -- you call "libs", you're still a poor kid inside etc. etc., but that's a matter for professional therapy, which you wont find here.

What Is Projection in Jungian Psychology?

I sit and watch all the name calling and the bitterness and passion you people have for this cause. OK so lay the cards out...what is it that you want and who should pay for it. What will it take for all of you to just shut up, be happy and quit attacking?
You'd like that. For us to just shut up. That's what the righties are all about, they just want the liberals to, "just shut up". If the liberals disagree with the republicans, "just shut up".

Thanks, now we know where you guys are coming from.

BTW, we won't shut up.
And, we're not bitter, because we aren't the people showing up at town hall meetings toting guns and causing civil disorder and chaos.

We just understand that you righties want to rule the world.

But as long as there are democrats, we will not allow that to happen.

Be careful though, there's probably more of those liberal finger biter offers in the crowds, we may just bite your trigger fingers off next time.

Such a lengthy drivel.

Well, we all have to pay taxes. In fact, my property taxes are almost due and though I can afford it, I'm going to take a hit...but the difference between myself and those on the right, is even though I'm paying taxes for services I don't even use, such as public schools, I'm happy to do it because I know it helps out many of my fellow citizens and it's for the greater good.

To put it in a nutshell, the left cares about their fellow Americans, the right cares about themselves..
You didn't answer the OPs question.
