China is buying lots of Russian oil. So is India. But they are buying at a discount. Is there anyone who believes the discount is offered because Russia just likes China and India?
No, Russia must take what they can get and right now it's a 30% discount. In February, India and China may cease buying Russian oil at all - that's because in February real sanctions take place when sales to Europe go to zero.
China and India are very much afraid of secondary US sanctions. People who believe China grew on its own and could do without the US market are poorly informed.
Storing oil in Russia is just not possible. The oil pipelines must be kept flowing, and if a complex oil well gets shut down the restart can be very complicated. And there is real danger that Russia may have to shut down some wells - Like Sakharin - 1 whose output has gone from 200,000 BPD to 10,000 because the Russians cannot maintain the equipment.
China is a fraud. They are good at artists conceptions and announcing grandiose plans, but not much else.
Russia is in full retreat. They are shielding their withdrawal with civilians from Kherson.

Heres a thought, the Russians could simply not attempt to strike them and go back home to Russia. Not hard to do really. Nothing would get destroyed and people would not be killed by their senseless attacks. I guess the warmongering Russians would rather cause destruction instead of ending this mess.
