Ukrainian men between the ages of 25 and 60 living abroad will be asked to report for military service, Defence Minister Rustem Umerov has said. He described this as an "invitation" - but suggested there would be sanctions against anyone who did not comply.
Yeah, but they are high brass officers and senior enlisted. Basically office workers at that age.
Sure. Yet we do have them at that age. My point is just because someone is older does not mean that they shouldnt be allowed to defend their country from an active attack.

requiring, not allowing.

Its actually asking according to your link. However, even if they were requiring it, there country is being actively attacked. What country wouldnt do the samething if its existence was threatened.

Easily said if you sit shielded by two oceans forming a natural obstacle to invasion. Office work can be expanded to rear area security at the guard post to get to the officers compound or shooting at the drone aimed at your granddaughters room.

At least half of any army is logistics. My Grandfather was in North Africa, Italy and the South of France in his 40s during WWII. He was a cook. After the war he served in Japan during the occupation.
When your country is being invaded why wouldnt you? As it is, there are 60 year olds in the US military.
This points to a problem. If your country is being invaded, there shouldn't be any problems with getting young able bodied men to sign up. If they are fleeing the country or refusing to fight, then that points to serious problems and counteracts a lot of the narrative that is being presented.

Russia also has the same problem as they are having to force people to fight as well. Not to mention that there are plenty of people in the US who have stated they would not defend the US if it was invaded. Every country has those people.
