-Highest Rate of poverty in over 50 years and it has worsened since Obama declared the recovery.
-Lowest ratio of full time jobs in work force and falling since Obama declared recovery.
-Highest amount of people ever on food stamps and climbing since Obama declared recovery.
-Growing amount of recent college grads not holding a job where a college degree is required. 45%. Has gotten worse since Obama declared a recovery.
-Household income has dipped since Obama declared a recovery.
-Amount of young adults living in mom's basement increased since Obama declared the recovery.
It's a much more detailed observation. For instance, people who lose their jobs and don't qualify for unemployment (off the grid/off the radar). People who are completely absent from the workforce and on public assistance, people who do things off the books, etc.
Everyone one of these people is potential competition with you for a job.
The raw unemployment rate before it passes through political propaganda media outlets and lobbyists is usually double what you are being told. Figure about 14-17% when you count everybody. U6 is what they don't want you to see.
They "don't want you to see" it so much they report it EVERY SINGLE MONTH right alongside the traditional U-3 unemployment rate.
I hear that same stupid argument all the time from people who clearly are too lazy to simply look it up for themselves. There is NOTHING "hidden" about the U-6 UE rate - NOTHING. It's reported every single month right alongside the U-3 UE rate.

As I posted in post#105, it all depends upon what you are trying to measure.
U-6 is the better number to watch because it contains those that can't find jobs (long/short term) and those working p/t because they can't find f/t jobs.
Underemployment can be just as bad financially as unemployment if you have bills to pay.
U-6 isn't as high as it was in 2009 but it hasn't come down as fast as U-3.

This is 2013, the days where people get disappointed and angry when the unemployment rate falls.

Exactly,, Obama could bring the unemployment level to zero and the righties would just howl,bellyache and whine about something not being right about it.
Lets face it righties just hate Obama, they've hated him from the get go,theres nothing he can do other than resign to make them happy, he'll never get credit for anything as far as they are concerned, for them its its not about common sense or logic or pulling together to help the country its just about the juvenile and selfish game of getting some form of adrenalin rush from the emotion of hate.
Why was Obama concerned about race relations getting worse, as he recently said, due to the being a smaller pie from which everyone can get a piece?
