Some "recovery".
Smoke and mirrors is all it is. Hey, let's crow about a whole bunch of part time, no benefit and probably low paying jobs. The seasonal immigrant fruit pickers must be so proud to be counted as "employed".

Why do you ignore the reality that the rate dropped because people are dropping out of the work force. And that most of those jobs were part time.

Is it just because Obama is in office?

Yes, really.

Chart: Median household incomes have collapsed since the recession

Since Obama declared a recovery began median household income has fallen. The gains are primarily being made by the 1%.

Lets face it righties just hate Obama, they've hated him from the get go,theres nothing he can do other than resign to make them happy, he'll never get credit for anything as far as they are concerned, for them its its not about common sense or logic or pulling together to help the country its just about the juvenile and selfish game of getting some form of adrenalin rush from the emotion of hate.
I voted for Obama twice. His job growth record sucks. Obama will go down has having reigned over the worse economy since the 30s. If things don't get better soon then Democrats could be scarred by this for decades.

Since when was someone ever able to support themselves, nevertheless a family, on a part time job?

I find it amusing, yet predictable, that liberals would cheer the decent of the American people to lower incomes, lower standards of living, and a life of servitude. It is the liberal dream come true!

I doubt it. Liberals and democrats will vote for whoever the democrat party put up for the 2014 and 2016 elections, regardless of the abject failure of their policies and their economic failure- they are that dumb. Can you imagine ANY LIBERAL, even if the unemployment rate was at 33% (actual unemployment now is 16% and that is not even accounting for those with part time jobs). It will never happen.

In 2014 and 2016, libs will make up some phony "issues" like the ""war on women" (even though lib politicians appear to show contempt for women) or "racism" and rally a bunch of idiots to vote for them again, even if they are impoverished and miserable by the very same liberal policies.

It is bad .
Which parts? I lived in NJ twice and am curious.

Kinda hard to bring about change and improvement when your opposition votes no,filibusters or obstructs anything you try to do..

Yeah, but I, like most Americans, will point a finger at the president. Especially with all the legislation that was passed during his first two terms.

Although the GOP accuses the President of being a dictator, in the real world he needs the cooperation of Congress to get his jobs legislation passed. The GOP spent Mr. Obama's first term hindering all of his proposals on the hope that keeping the economy weak will deny him a second term. Their plan failed.

The President proposed The American Jobs Act(S. 1549) (H. Doc. 112-53) and (H.R. 12) that would have added a million jobs. What did the GOP House do? The refused to pass it, although John Boehner said in 2010 that his focus would be "jobs, jobs, jobs." The bill was voted on in the Senate where it failed to garner the necessary 60 votes to proceed.

One can't kick someone in the knees and then complain that he can't run a marathon. Your anger is misdirected at the President when rightfully should be assigned to the obstructionist Republicans, who wasted time by taking 40 votes to repeal Obamacare.

in spite of GOP obstructionists, GDP is up; Stock values are near all-time highs; jobs have improved somewhat, etc. We do have a weak recovery mainly because of an unwillingness for the government to spend what it needs to be bold.
