No one is ever going to pressure me into not saying it

"Merry Christmas"

...and whoever doesn't like it can kiss my ass

Who really cares? No religion or ethnicity owns December 25, none. Call it whatever you want. I know I wont be at work that day which is more than enough reason to celebrate.

I do but am feeling increasingly pressured not to do so. I'm sad about that. It's called "Christmas", but my wife didn't dare use "that" word in the 100s of "Holiday Cards" we just sent to past and current clients, friends and family. Only very close family get a "Christmas card" anymore.

She has a point. Why risk offending someone? But still. Seems like the new avatar for the season ought to be egg shells and tip toes. The spirit is different.

I tell people I know are Christians to have a Merry Christmas, yes.

If I don't know someones religion I say happy holidays, which is a word made from a combination of holy and day.

Christmas is much more then about Christ now, it is simply a day to be with the ones you love, and appreciate them.

Hell even the Catholic Church didn't make that big a deal out of Christmas, its truly an American made holiday, it wasn't even a major celebration anywhere until the late 19th century.

It is offensive to say Merry Christmas? Seriously, I love my country, but I hate what people here are becoming.

Sure. I say it to everyone this time of year. I have a couple of Jewish friends, and I say Happy Hanukah to them. Big deal.
I sure it matters more to be retailers who are selling stuff now to many different religions, not just Judaism, who all celebrate during the same season. I don't have any problem with that- it's up to the biz. If schools and other government entities face the same diversity, I have no problem with however they choose to handle it.

What I hate is the thought of a greeting becoming another non-sensical political issue. In a community that's all Christian, or very close to it, no probs. In another community, let them do what they think is best.

Never have, never will.

I say Merry Christmas on CHRISTMAS. One day. None of this month long lead up situation. Every other day gets a Happy Holidays because there are many in the season.

This Christmas will be very merry! I work for a school district that hasn't discovered PC'ness. Yesterday, our school cafeteria served the students a CHRISTMAS dinner (lunch). This time, next week, I'll be on my first day of CHRISTMAS vacation. Merry Christmas!!!!!!

"Hats off" to your school district! What a wonderful place it sounds like. I'm betting that they actually educate instead of indoctrinate at your school.

Merry Christmas to you, and Oh, to the man upstairs, "Happy Birthday, Jesus Christ."
