Hopefully the new owners spruce these towers up.
It's plagued by its brutalist architecture unfortunately. Maybe the lobby can be opened up a bit.

Yeah, it needs some smart renovation. I'm not personally against brutalist arch though. I personally like DC's metro stations which are very brutalist in design (at least some of them).

Brutalist itself doesn't have to be bad but the Penn towers in question are the finest examples of the Billy Penn height restriction at work. Their proportions are quite fat and unaesthetically pleasing. Not eyesores though, still decent buildings.

Companies that had offices in there: Comcast and ARCO(Atlantic Richfield). I'm pretty sure the old ARCO company symbol is still engraved on the 15th St side.

The ARCO logo was transformed into a generic diamond design with "Centre Square" superimposed on it by the building owner after the company was dismembered.

Yeah, but, anyone with my level of longevity knows what it was originally.

I will actually be in Philadelphia this weekend, I am excited to walk around! I havent been to the city (besides 30th St station) in months!
Then you know that 30th St Station has been shrouded wrt restoration.

Since the AKA University City is in the FMC building you might try to see if you can at least get inside to see the lobby.

I haven't read anything recently about the third "cira" tower that's supposed to be built right next to the Cira Centre. MarketEl probably can find stuff about the original plan from a long time ago to build 3 towers.

Interesting little development at Reading Terminal: Real-time transit info now available at Reading Terminal Market. More interesting to me is SEPTA's plan to install countdown timers at all subway stops by next year.

Hopefully Septa's will be more accurate than MTA's.

Great, but WTF is the realtime info on subway platforms? Outside the restrooms at RTM is hardly the most important place for this information to be posted. Subway and trolley platforms is where I'd start. Then maybe bus stops?
