Is this downtown? I can't remember where Bearly Country was - across from Kinfolks, in that block?
YES again I believe it's going where the ice cream place used to be. I was told there's a cupcake place in the other half of the store.

Ice cream place going in so late in the season, that is not the best business plan. Many have failed in Selinsgrove, I remember White Mountain Creamery which was in the old Lynn's Market Grocery Store location back in the late 80's, did not last. Also the old Tastee-Freeze where CVS is now.

There was also once a Subway in Downtown Selinsgrove but it did not last too long.

Cupcake place too? Another fad business that come and go like the wind, been several here and they rarely last a year.

The original Subway burned down not long after it opened.

Panera's a good place to get a good $5 lunch for $15.

Wegman's won't happen. They look for a certain population density in an area, as well as the potential for growth, as well as a certain average income level.

The four county area doesn't exactly fit the bill.

The Williamsport Wegman's always seemed odd to me. It doesn't fit this ^ criteria, IMO. It gives me hope!

I've never been to one, but my mother's boyfriend really likes the one in Bloomsburg/Buckhorn. They live in Montoursville and were thrilled when Williamsport got one.

I believe the plan for the ice cream place would be a spring opening since it's being built from the ground up across from NAPA where they tore down a building. I imagine (and this is just me speculating, nothing known for sure) that they'd get the exterior done and under roof ASAP and then do the interior work over the winter.

Subway is the one that is going in downtown where Kate's Creamery was. That may be a hit with the college crowd since the Selinsgrove Sub Shop closed a number of years ago. For anyone who's not in walking distance, though, the Subway in the plaza on the strip across from Arby's offers better parking options.

I think Wegmans got uppity after opening in Williamsport, that store's been there for a while. Although State College doesn't exactly fit their stated criteria either.
