No hesitation, The Sand Pebbles (1966). Also stars Richard Attenborough, Richard Crenna, Candice Bergen.

Okay, thank you. I've got that & Great Escape in my queue & will give them a go. I've also never seen Bridge on the River Kwai or Gone with the Wind, so I'm looking forward to a busy week with a few American classics.

Saw Interstellar last night. It was good. To fill in some of the dialog I missed, I'll rewatch the dvd when it comes out (March 2015?) with subtitles on. I was under a self imposed review and spoiler blackout, and there was a cast member that surprised me. The whole film was a surprise. Did not make my top 10, but made a good showing in the top 20.

Well we got no choice
All the girls and boys
Makin all that noise
Cause they found new toys
Well we can't salute ya
Can't find a flag
If that don't suit ya
That's a drag

Think about it. You're basically alone on a deserted island with 2 readily available women. One, a seductive sex goddess type. The other, a healthy girl-next-door-type with a nice butt. So the men have it all, the Madonna and the *****. Women get nothing. We get a geek, an overweight middle-age guy, and a nerdy scientific type.

I watched "State of Emergency" last night. One of those zombie virus types. It was ok but very very slooooow. Also caught "Empire of the Ants" on tv, a b movie drive-in theater type. Giant killer ants on an island. Hilarious.

Piranhaconda is a classic.
It's a giant anaconda with a piranha head and sharp teeth.

Saw " 16 Blocks". It was a Bruce Willis- Mos Def movie I was unaware of. It was interesting in that Bruce seemed to be

laying the idea out in this movie of the John McClain character he would hone in the Die Hard franchise.

The premise was OK, but what was really annoying was Mos's constant chattering throughout the movie.
