Kundun (1997). Martin Scorsese directs. 3.8 out of 5 stars. Beautifully filmed. Excellent soundtrack by American composer Philip Glass.

The Housemaid (2010). Don't bother. I made it to the end, which disappointed. Kind of silly. I should have kept The Limey an extra few days and rewatched it I would have been better off.

Why I bothered to watch, I couldn't contain my curiosity and since I recently subscribed to a streaming channel, I thought why not give it a look.
That movie is a complete garbage. I can tell just by watching the trailer. My wife's coworkers were telling her how great it was since they read the book too. My wife gave it a shot. I didn't even last 5 mins. into the movie. After Hunger Games, we watched Battle Royale. Let's just say that Battle Royale is not the world's greatest movie but at least I sat through it.

Agreed. Broadway-worthy musical numbers, great special effects, many cliff-hanger moments, at least one surprise plot twist, humor, and a happy ending.

Highbrow? Nope.
Great fun? Absolutely!

The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug (2013)
Soooo good!!!! Soundtrack was amazing, loved the acting, and the fight scenes were great!
Great cliffhanger of course, will be torturous waiting for the 3rd movie next year
Peter Jackson is definitely living up to his expectations and more

Frozen, really great. A lot different from the slapstick tv trailers and I loved that
