Umberto D. (1952) - IMDb

I saw this a few months ago. Beautiful film - though the subject matter is not uplifting, you get a sense of the humanity in people and how to navigate through the uncaring people in the world.

Drive starring Ryan Gosling, Albert Brooks and the terrific Carey Mulligan, a wonderful actress who doesn't make nearly enough movies IMHO.

Agree - recently, Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), Never Let Me Go (2010), and An Education (2009). Especially the last.

The Robe...

After seeing it 'in-home' I can see how audiences raved when it first came out on a CinemaScope screen in theaters. Beautifully shot. Scorsese said he was awed by the film when he saw it back in the 50's.

The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption. Both are excellent movies.
