The Avengers with Joss Whedon's director commentary. I think I am going to do that now with all of the Marvel Studios movies.

Blue Jasmine. This got Cate Blanchett a lot of buzz for her performance. Which was deserved. The movie itself was not so much to my taste. Reminded me a little of a remake of A Streetcar Named Desire.

The Skeleton Twins. It was better than just good but not great. Watched it for the actors. Sometimes I just like to see certain actors to see what/how they are doing.

'The Man with the Golden Arm." For some unknown reason, I had thought this was about a gambling addict who played craps (I guess I thought the title referred to his arm swinging as he shook the dice or something.) It is actually about a guy (played by Frank Sinatra) who lives in New York and is a heroin addict who is trying to stay clean and live his dream of being a professional drummer while being tempted back into addiction by being back in the same environment.

It took some determination for me to get through the whole thing. It was very gritty and bleak, and I am not a Sinatra fan. I did like Kim Novak as Molly and Eleanor Parker as Zosch, though. And the dog. The dog was really good.
