Darlin' and I wanted to watch something beautiful tonight, so we chose Field of Dreams. It was as 'perfect' as ever.

We're just about to watch For Love of the Game now. I guess it must be a baseball kind of beautiful night.

Love to all and Merry Christmas,

Mahrie.

I saw a movie called Scarecrow (1973) on TCM a couple of weeks ago. It starred Al Pacino and Gene Hackman.

Strange film. Interesting as he11 to me though.

Richard Linklater sure has an interesting filmography. Slacker is his second film, and his first, It's Impossible to Learn to Plow by Reading Books (1988) is one of the supplements in the Criterion Collection dvd (or Blu-ray). In his commentary he mentions all of the actors are musicians unless otherwise noted. He plays the first character and mentions the first scene is actually a continuation of his first film. I also found this article about one of his Jack Black films, Bernie (2011):

Murderer Who Inspired Bernie Is Free, Crashing With Director of Bernie

And this:

Bernie Tiede freed, will live with Austin filmmaker Richard Linklater

What the hello?

Naturally, I added Bernie to my Netflix dvd queue, which should arrive in today's Christmas eve mail (along with Guardians of the Galaxy).
