"The characters and the story just have to be good enough."

The fact that he seems to be stating that as an epiphany is bothersome. That is movie-making 101. Which, I guess, is why producers should stay out of the story and just pay the bills.

IMO, that's Marvel's problem. Things are usually just "good enough." They don't take a lot of chances. You may hate 90% of what WB's done, but you can't accuse them of invariability.

No. But neither can I accuse them of an overall vision. I get the impression that this person is the one planning DC's movie-verse storyline:

McDonald's has an "overall vision," too. Here's Marvel's assembly line, er, conference room (guess which one's Feige?):

You mean like making Thanos' motivation to kill half the population of the universe because of his infatuation with the goddess of death? lol

Although, I wouldn't call that 'not taking chances'... but instead, I would call that making sensible decisions.

lol Marvel's done well with the MCU. But only disgruntled fanboys would complain about Marvel's movie.
