DC's digital service is coming out with four originals, and remastering BTAS, and I believe everything else they've done will be accessible. For 20 cents a day, that's a no-brainer. And I've never paid a subscription to anything else, like Hulu, Network or Amazon, because there are still only one or two shows per network I'd bother with.

I saw the preview for TITANS. Pass. It looks like Suicide Squad 90210.

I'll keep an eye on it. But any DC films or TV shows I care to regularly watch I already own. Why rent the milk when you've already bought the cow?

The other originals are Doom Patrol, Star Girl and Swamp ThingST is Wan-produced, and it's supposed to be R-rated horror, as it should be.

Don't pee in the punch bowl before you've tasted it.

Swamp Thing definitely sounds promising, but I'm not going to subscribe to an entire network for 1 show.

It's not just a network. They're going to upload their entire comics archive. Not entirely at once, but it's on the itinerary.

Idiot Plot

"The Idiot Plot, of course, is any plot that would be resolved in five minutes if everyone in the story were not an idiot." — Roger Ebert in his review of Narrow Margin (1990)

Originated by SF author James Blish and popularized by film critic Roger Ebert during his review of the remake of Narrow Margin, this trope is a term for a Plot that hangs together only because the main characters behave like idiots. A single intelligent move or question by any of the characters, and all problems would be resolved. It's not so bad if the characters are supposed to be acting like idiots, but it's very bad if the Idiot Plot depends on a character suddenly acting stupid enough for the Plot to work.
