I'm not sure. That might be why they're wanting the outdoor stage so it won't be on the movie theater wall.

It looks like Nova Espresso won't be in taking the ground floor space at Temple Lodge after all. Their latest instagram post says they will be located on St. Anthony Street in DeTonti Square. They also say that the building will need some work so opening date will be pushed back to fall. They don't make any mention of changing locations or all of the press that said they be at the new Temple Lodge lofts.

I wonder what happened with the space at Temple Lodge?

We rarely get a chance to see Mobile's west end skyline views because of the thick live oak coverage but check the view. https://www.facebook.com/notes/templ...5392661421115/

It's also hard to see the density of the city because of the oaks. It's amazing to know that there is an urban city that's over 300 years old under those oaks.

I hope nobody starts removing those oaks. Live oaks and Spanish moss is what makes Mobile unique in the state, and also beautiful.

This may sound silly to you as an outsider but they are federally protected and you have to have permission from the city to touch them. Even on your own property, they definitely play a major role in character that make the city.

When I lived in Huntsville you guy's Twickenham area was reminiscent of some of the historic districts in Mobile.

Yeah, I can understand the federal protection. Those oaks that form a canopy over the streets are something to see. We just don't have those here. Twickenham is definitely beautiful, especially in the fall. The trees are mostly sugar maples and other types that have beautiful fall foliage. Mobile is older and was larger when Huntsville was still really small, so the historic areas there are much larger. Birmingham also has some extensive older, beautiful neighborhoods.

The last two dilapidated buildings in Fort Conde Village will start their renovations in the next few months. They will be more hotel rooms and a restaurant that will serve the public and the Inn. It will be nice when that whole little area is finished.
