I can buy that. My 3 BIL's are Firefighters around Boston. The general attitude among them is "This is just the flu, big deal "

Yes, I know that doesn't speak to every firefighter.

That's interesting. My neighbor who is a correctional officer, was offered it last week and refused. I didn't ask him why, but did joke that he should've given his dose to me instead!

On a positive note, our own Moderna, which is a relatively small company, and this Covid-19 vaccine is their first commercial product... has announced that they expect to product at least 600 million doses of their mRNA vaccine this year. Moderna is the bomb!

My cousin's husband is a firefighter and he has corona now she has it too. Pretty sure he hadn't been offered the vaccine yet.

I dont understand whats going on.... Like a lot of people, I know theres a vaccine (or 2 or 3) out there, so when can we get it? Yes, I know theres a phase 1,2, 3.... Id like to see something official - saying 'Heres when people can get it' and I hope there is a plan to distribute that.

I understand things are very fluid right now, and Im not blaming anybody - but I was/am behind Baker making good on things, so maybe todays announcement explains things out there?

CO mask compliance was 77%, so 23% are still willingly non-compliant and your neighbor may fall into that bucket (though I acknowledge mask wearing and phase 1 vaccinations have separate risk profiles). FD compliance was a dismal 44%.

Again, this was a national survey through representative unions. These percentages do not necessarily reflect the behavior of MA FDs, though anecdotal evidence suggests we’re well short of total compliance.

Will this happen on the East Coast as the UK mutation takes off?

Interesting CMU tracker on self reported mask compliance. Looks like vast majority are motivated toward compliance, especially in major metros.

Yesterday, the state rolled out an interactive dashboard for Covid-19 reporting, done in Tableau. Before, this was produced as static PDF reports. Since it's just been rolled out, some initial issues won't be surprising.
