I think it's hard, really. Of course the teachers are extremely important, to get them to work so schools can operate and kids can get a better education. On the other hand, saving lives is also very important, and people over 65 with 2 health risk factors are most at risk for Covid-19 mortality and morbidity. I guess people can argue that the right answer is obvious, but I don't think so.

At least this is a big enough pool that there shouldn't be any slack in appointments anymore.
I'll say not. I went to the site immediately because SO is in the 2+ comorbidity group. Of course it had crashed. When it came back up, it looks like all the slots were full!

I just checked vaxfinder. There are still some spots left but it's very tight. Even Gillette is pretty close to full now.

Agreed, however, teachers are largely lacking leverage on the matter, beyond the political sway of their union. Even if they are able to cross over into the private sector, which is no easy task for many, it’s not as if that provides a better vaccine path.

Vaccine priority shouldn't be based on how loud your union or special interest group can scream or call in their donation$ favors. This might be the end of of a few politicians careers.

I'm sure there's more than a few folks who've been working straight through at wegmans or utility workers driving down to help Texas recover that wish they could get the vaccine right now too.

I think you can only get appointment on the 18th. That's what it says in the WWW.Mass.Gov site.

You can start making appointments now, for slots on the 18th and later.

I misunderstood.

If you are under 65, and have 2 issues, are you eligible?

And how do they check when you get there, if you are obese, smoking, T2D, etc. Is it the honor system?

Disclaimer: I got vaccine #1 and #2 is in another week.

I think people got around that, given how little appointments are left now. I haven't tried myself.

That seems logical. But that's not what the site said when I checked last. You are eligible to make appointments and get vaccines starting the 18th. May be after midnight.
