I still go to a gym about 3-4 times a week in the morning. I wear a mask and others do inside. The weight area is smaller. If someone goes in here with me and starts lifting that's fine for them but I'm leaving. Why? I trust masks to a point but if they are huffing and puffing I don't want to take the chances. Do I take the mask off or tell them to? No. But I'm not going to act like I'm invincible either.

The argument isn't that wearing a mask alone is the end all but that combined with not touching your face, seeing fewer people, washing your hands etc all adds up.
Agree and I must say I haven't been brave enough to go back to my gym yet. I've invested in home exercise equipment instead!

yes I read that article last night as well.

I have mixed feelings.

I noticed someone I used to work with posted on instagram that they have covid. She is in her 20's, works from home, no kids, very liberal and also put up something about how now she's not going home to see her family because of this and others should not be stupid. It felt like more of a stay home on thanksgiving ad and she also mentioned she has 0 symptoms. That's what floors me about this is sooo many people don't have symptoms.

Yeah but of course it won't happen until after the biggest shopping day of the year.

I don't think so. At least not imminently. The Baker administration has doubled and tripled down on on the belief that the bulk of transmission today is happening at family/friends gatherings. There's very little political will to shut down businesses again unless we start seeing hospitals come close struggling with capacity. And while numbers are rising (though they appear to be leveling off a little) at alarming rates, we're still quite a bit behind the hotspots in the Midwest. Barring a post-Thanksgiving super surge, I think we'll be looking at the status quo for the foreseeable future with a handful of relatively small adjustments. I could even see a small "pause" on dining and gyms (+/- 2 weeks), extended curfews, travel restrictions, and limits on gatherings at households, but not in store shopping during the holiday season unless there's solid evidence that it's a major factor in a surge. Realistically, I think we're going to continue riding this out for the next several months with minimal change.

It's just crazy how much higher the numbers are now than they were over the summer. What the heck happened and no it wasn't elementary schools opening up.

Many of the recent cases I am aware of have been no-symptoms or very minor. One person had a headache. Another person was just tired for a few days, and never had a cough. These folks were in their 20's.

I've read a few reports on the viral load decreasing since March. Higher viral load has been linked to a more severe form of the illness.

I also wouldn't be surprised to find that there are a lot more asymptomatic cases circulating than we think.
