Any idea as to when Baker might make a decision as to extending the shutdown?

Beyond May 4th? NYC/de Blasio is saying “much of May” without naming dates. I don’t think there is enough data to plan like that. Your guess is as good as any. Without testing and antibody testing, nobody knows where we stand.

My adopted state (Colorado now, formerly Middlesex County, MA) just extended our shutdown to April 26.

I’m fairly certain Boston’s shutdown will go past may 4

It sure looks like it must. Boston is a hotspot and it's not gonna get better too soon.

Wuhan was locked down on Jan 23 and was "set free" only last week.

The situation in Boston is certainly not as bad as in Wuhan, but the restrictions on activities are also far looser.

And I think in Wuhan, people who contact traced positive and such were ordered into a quarantine facility, not a suggestion that they stay home. Or was it Hong Kong that did that? Agree that Boston does not equal Wuhan, but it might be closer to Italy.

Ned Lamont tossed out a May 20 date in an interview with CNN earlier this week. If he sticks to it, Baker may be (politically) forced to do the same.

Im sure people will be pretty depressed if this is all still happening memorial day weekend. But if schools are closed then we still kind of need to be social distancing I would think.
