Many that I know that “did all the right things“ got sick, and some very sick. The ones who went about their business, including myself, either didn’t get it, or had very mild cases. I had it asymptomatically in September 2022, and probably had it in February 2020. In February 2020 I really did not feel well for about a week, but nowhere near the point where I felt my life was in danger.

I feel that these precautions were mostly theatre, to allow some to feel that they were doing something.

There were many deaths at first. Then people gained immunity and it wasn't as bad later on. I still felt like crap when I got it this year.

I'd argue that the only difference between now and a year ago is a concerted effort to minimize it. Thousands are still dying weekly.

As I said on the RI thread, it's not possible to have a meaningful discussion.

Why?

Yes, I know you bemoan the deaths but do you have any answers besides solitary confinement for the healthy?
