Bout the same. I get weekly emails with updates on cases in the schools. 2-4/week is about where we are now. It's pretty much just going around at this point.

Even my office is having weekly email updates of 1-2 cases per week now in a building of 150 people. All fortunately mild.

Still seems to be business as usual though, other than being told we couldn't throw a 30-person holiday party in the office cafe this year. Masks are optional in my building. No mandated vaccination.

I get my booster next Mon, but other than that I'm not really restricting myself too much.

Our schools have had a slight uptick but nothing major

Our church was supposed to do a Christmas pageant but that's been cancelled now thanks to Covid.

Our school does pool covid testing and from what I can tell, about a third to half the kids have opted into that. My kids get tested every 2 weeks as part of the school program. I'm not sure how many positives have come out of the pool testing, if any.

We have a few boxes of the BinaxNOW covid tests in case we need them for stay and learn (our school accepts those for negative tests). We've gone through a couple of boxes with some runny noses, but haven't gotten any positives.

Curious how many cases are in other schools in the area.

That looks like an overall number and not by individual district.

It shows individual districts if you download the Excel file.

I'm recently Pfizer boosted, so always nice to see something like this. Particularly when coupled with the emerging anecdotal evidence that the omicron hysteria may be overblown .

However...

"The companies said they’ll be watching closely to see how quickly immunity against omicron wanes over time even after a third dose."

...I'll take this all with many grains of salt until it is confirmed independently of the vax companies, who can't help but have conflicted interests.

That’s behind a paywall. The NY Times has the same story. I don’t pay for the Globe because most of their national and international news is day old New York Times articles.

We’ll see if the lab bench preliminary results map onto the real world but after a week+ of useless speculation in the press, this is the first real data point. I’m reading that Israel is setting up a panel to discuss a 4th booster. Their booster program started 5 months ago. I’ll bet they go on a 6 month cycle. I’d also bet that the sluggish CDC and FDA will drag a 4th booster out to 9 months with 3 months of foot dragging despite really good Pfizer and Israeli data.

It's what i've heard as well. Usual 12 hours or so of fever, aches and chills and then clears up pretty fast.

My wife got hers a few weeks ago and felt nothing.
