For people who like being free citizens though and not living in a police state it is a big issue worthy of highlighting.
I don't know if you have heard, but there is a pandemic raging that's killed just shy of 780,000 Americans, and saddled far more with debilitating "Long Covid", so far. And to evade the "police state", all people need to do is to get vaccinated against the virus - be part of the solution, instead of part of the problem.

Had you resisted those shots (which are not one-time, by the way...many are a repeating series), you would have been denied the very fundamentals which unlock job/social life/assets: EDUCATION.

And before you pull out the bogus 99.96% survival rate...just consider that we require varicella shots also, and when was the last time anyone died from chicken pox?

You do have a choice, by the way. But the vaccine passports just emphasize that choices have consequences.

For a long time, there has been an undercurrent of resistance to vaccines and description of them as dangerous and/or a conspiracy. But that's always been a relatively small number of oddballs until now. Once prominent politicians and media hacks have taken up this cause, they have made these mainstream beliefs. Such people are doing this nation a great disservice.

The bottom line is I haven't taken a shot of any kind in almost 20 years, and you're trying to sell me on the notion that taking a shot every few months for the rest of my life is normal.

You're not trying to find truth or to appeal to people's rational capabilities; you're trying to sell people something they don't need. Hence, these ridiculous arguments you're making.

I have to show government-issued photo ID to buy a $15 beer at Gillette. I have to show that same ID at the airport to get on a plane. I have to fill out an I-9 any time I change jobs. They typically want my passport and my Social Security card. Recently, I also have to sign the authorization to pull a credit report and do the Lexus/Nexus background check. I have to have a valid license plate on my car. I get pulled over at DUI roadblocks. I’ve been pulled over by the border patrol in Vermont and asked for ID.

My wife would get fired from her hospital director job if she didn’t get a flu shot every year. That’s not a new policy. She couldn’t get hired without showing proof of an MMR vaccination.

I get it. An underachiever resenting that someone is telling them what to do. The country is full of people like that.

If the anti-vaxxers had rational capabilities (ability to assess risk vs. reward...and not just on an individual, but a social or societal basis), they would be pro-vaxxers.

And it sounds like you lost the argument with your parents as a toddler, to not submit to any of the myriad vaccines that you didn't end up needing as an adult.

But back to vaccines, a load of places I've visited and most places I want to required proof of vaccinations before covid. I, like most people I know, keep it with my passport.

Hep A
Hep B
Polio
TD
Typhoid
Yellow Fever,
Etc

Not new. Not a big deal. Most all require updating on various cycles. 100% needed to travel to most places remotely interesting.

None of these requires proof of vaccine, so this is you just blabbering. No one cares.

No, I definitely do not care that you have a license plate and you have to show your ID to get a beer. Because they have nothing to do with having to show proof of vaccination for basic activities.

I will apologize for taking you off ignore, though. That mistake has now been fixed.
