Lee had a little tornado come through Thursday afternoon. Hundred year old pines were twisted off 30 feet off the ground. Homes and camps were damaged in a narrow swath and two properties over there was not a leaf taken off the trees. Some trees were felled to the west and some to the east. Sure looks like a twister went through to me. I took a bunch of photos. About a dozen utility poles were snapped off and many more wires went down due to fallen trees and branches. Bangor Hydro had nine trucks in town working to restore power on Friday morning.

One lady was injured when a huge old maple tree blew over onto her car. She has multiple broken ribs, but will recover.

Great summer so far in the County. A bit hot for my tastes but then again I like 70s.

What a lovely and lyrical piece of writing about your Summer shower!

Worst summer ever. Doesn't feel like Maine at all. Although I have swam more this year than ever before. So I got a nice tan and it's good exercise. Looks like maybe next week the heat will break, but it keeps looking like that, then changes back to forecasted 80s.

Makes me wonder what this winter is going to be like.

Winter will be La Nina. No break in the drought. But very very cold so any moisture we get will be powdery snow. Back to normal below zero temps unlike last year when we couldn't even have the ice festivals.

78 at my house but the humidity is in the high 80's and not much breeze. Way too hot for Maine.

Normally we run the fan at night maybe 2-3 times. This summer we've had to run the fan at night since Late July. This is like Pennsylvania. But Pennsylvania right now is like Georgia.

I am sitting in a board meeting, it is kind of boring right now so here I am on my laptop, I am in Thorndike, Waldo county. I was very surprised to see how brown and dry the grasses are here right now. Completely different from up in Penobscot County.

It is now nearly 90 degrees in Bar Harbor. The record for this day is 91. We won't reach it. At my house its 84, which is pretty nearly a personal record. I'm not enjoying it as I battle Lyme Disease.

Just remember as we struggle with these temps, that in 5 months the temperature is going to be -10, and we'll be complaining about that.
