The other night, I was having KNX withdrawals so I put it on in my car via TuneIn.

It *almost* reaches here at night (you can kinda hear it) via the AM dial.

You've done your fair share of California Stops.

You grew up when it was "Mann Chinese Theater" and still call it that by accident (okay, this is me).

You know damn well that the Angels are playing in Dodger Stadium during the climax of "The Naked Gun". WTH?

You remember what you were doing when the Whittier quake hit (on my way to school, 5th grade)

You remember what you were doing during the Northridge quake (sleeping)

You fondly remember the two hour Tram ride at Universal Studios, now a shadow of its former self. Where have you gone, Battlestar Galactica ship?

You watch silent films with a scarcely populated Los Angeles in the background and think "One day, 18 million people will live there". Damn.

If you need a car or truck, go see Cal.

Isn't that last one a KFWB slogan?

KNX sound effects are classic, the traffic one, and the CBS News one (which you can here anywhere).

2. You admit privately that you've never actually known anyone who surfs and snow skies on the same day.

3. You remember where you were when Gibson hit the home run.

4. You know which city was the first and only city to host the Summer Olympics and not lose money doing so, yet you don’t brag about it.

5. You know what a chili size is and which restaurants have them on the menu.

6. You know where a good hot dog can be found, and it isn’t Pink’s.

7. You’re vaguely aware of snow, but it’s something you have to drive an hour to experience up in the mountains.

8. The reason you don’t know how to drive in the rain is because it never rains, and you forget how to do so in between storms.

9. You learn how to swear in Mexican Spanish before you can in English.

10. You know what ancient restaurant in L.A. raised the price of a cup of coffee from 9 cents to 45 cents in 2012.

11. You assume everyone wears bathing suits and goes barefoot all Winter.

12. You know exactly what Raymond Chandler is referring to in the first paragraph of “Red Wind.”

13. When describing how to get from point A to point B, you use travel time rather than miles.

14. You are aware that the infamous brush fires and mudslides affect mainly people along the edges.

15. You also know what the edges are.

16. You have eaten an entire Oki Dog and lived to tell about it.

17. “Late night and early morning low clouds and fog along the coast…”

18. You’re still not accustomed to exit ramp numbers and street names in English.

19. You’d rather see your mother in a whorehouse than the Giants in the World Series.

20. Tommy’s and In-n-Out are in your DNA.

21. Carne asada fries, *******! Top that!
YEAH! the sage speaks! : )

here are my adds.
"you say east or west instead of left or right", as in "turn west on sunset".

if you are under 30 the likelihood you have a pot card is ASTRONOMICAL.

you laugh when someone pronounces la canada just like the country.

you secretly have PRIDE in la's dark, weird, backwards history.

you've actually come to learn that the LAPD is not nearly as bad as they used to be.

Yes, it definitely was. I have some KFWB broadcasts on audio tape.

That's what I used to think. Now I consider anything below 60 degrees "cold," and above 70 degrees "hot."

My additions:

You went to Disneyland for grad night. Or possibly Magic Mountain. Or Universal Studios.

You experienced solid precipitation for the first time, and were disappointed to hear that it was not snow, but hail.

Hail never occurs during the summer, only during the winter.

In "Angels in the Outfield" (1994), the Angels play most of their games at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.

During the Northridge Quake, I was sleeping, was awakened by the house shaking, yelled to our houseguest to "stop shaking the house", to which he replied "I'm not", and then I fell out of bed. The power went out, and when it came back, the cable didn't work, so all we had was fuzzy channels 2, 4, 7, etc.
