You know who Cal Worthington stole the "dog in the used car sales commercial" idea from, and you remember the dog's name. And you remember the phone number.

I am guessing Ralph Williams and his dog Storm. I don't remember the phone number though.

What I do remember is he would go from car to car and say this one has an AM radio and heater

I looked it up and found I am not quite right

It looks like it was Chick Lambert from Brand Motors Ford City who later moved to Ralph Williams Ford. I have no recollection of Chick Lambert

If you say "The" in front of the freeway number. I get called out as So Cal anywhere I go when I say "The" 95. or "The 35", lol.

The Green Sheet was a free paper that they through on your lawn (later became the Daily News)

I remember the Green Sheet from numerous mentions on LA talk radio in the mid-sixties.

The Green Sheet was owned by the Mendenhall Family. Was friends with the oldest daughter.

I used to deliver the Green Sheet, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The voluntary subscription rate was 75₵/month. I got $12 per month plus 35₵ of each subscription plus 10₵ for each insert. It used to be around $30/month when all settled.
