Again guys...CC won't fail. Even if the holding company goes BK and takes MGM and Dubai down...CC still won't fail.

Once up and running these places are operational gold mines...as long as they don't have to pay the cost of building themselves. So it is those who fund these things that takes the risk...not the actual operation. Only way the operational entity could fail would be to be unable to make its operating costs...which I think very unlikely.

Rumor has it that neither Cosmo nor Font will have any condos.

Don't know if it is true or not...but we will likely know this year.

And I agree with Olecapt, MGM made a huge bet on condos and residential with City Center. It was a big gamble and it might have been a bust. Can't blame them for trying something different (and highly speculative).
I'm on your boat
Never been there but I have scene the vids, the renderings, news vids, heard from friends and relatives the same thing. It has a "bland corporate feel"

That's just not my fit.

Aria must not be doing well. We just got back from Vegas. Went through City Center but didn't spend one dime there. We already have an offer for a comped 3 night stay at Aria. They would have to pay me to stay there. The traveler reviews are bad. When we were passing through I had to use one of the ladies rooms. There was paper all over the floor and many of the stalls were dirty. Yuck!

So what is Fountainbleu and Cosmopolitan? I saw the Fountainbleu signs down towards the Riviera... right? just more casinos?

this thread is so interesting to me. im not currently a vegas resident... but its a little heart breaking that City Center seems to be failing. maybe it's just the economy...

oh one other thing I saw, someone mentioned a nice room for $150.00 in vegas compared to a holiday inn where they live. I actually very much agree with this. Vegas does have some cheap hotel rooms in comparison to what you can get elsewhere... I know it doesn't sound cheap but to those of us that travel... you definitely get more for your money in Vegas.

It may not fail...but it IS going to have to rebrand to compete and stay in business, IMO. Maybe Hooters can buy CC out and change it to a wing-eating, boob-googling joint...like it did with the San Remo!

Please get working on that ASAP. I'll contact Dubai World and tell them we're taking over the place.
