This shouldn't need to be said, but in this case I think it does: Don't risk flying across country only to find out you can't check into your hotel. Call the hotel before you book and confirm their reservation policy.

If you are just looking for a place to sleep then you should look for non-hotel lodging. For example many YMCA's have hostels. Try googling for "vegas youth hostels." You won't have to be 21 or have a credit card for those places, plus they are likely to be off the strip too. No package deals on airfare though.

The whole City Center project was conceived of during the economic bubble and reeks of the ridiculous trendy, modern, luxurious style of that era. Basically, it's like MGM bought $10 billion worth of Enron stock around the midddle of the year 2000. Whoops....

Funny, I was shopping in Ross the other day and saw an Ed Hardy t-shirt in there for $12.99. The original price was $95. Another despicable sign of the times. If I hear another person say "tough economic times" I'm gonna be sick. We're closer to reality now than we ever were during "the boom".

Concerning City Center...they just need to turn the dollar slots to penny slots, add a 24 hr Denny's and beer pong table, and change the Prada store to Gap or something. And it's not because of the "tough economic times", it's just getting back to reality.

I was in Vegas for the last week. I was disappointed that I didn't get a chance to make it to CC. But I guess I didn't miss much.

Maybe they should build a mc donalds somewhere in the middle of that place. It's always nice to have a decent place to eat.

I agree. Frankly, I am sick of hearing about "oh, we have to raise your insurance rates due to the economy", or "sorry we need you to work on Sat. but we can't pay you the overtime wage...it's a job you know, you are lucky to have one"! It is overused and abused by many companies. So, do they really think we are not being affected by it either? Gags me too.

The companies we work for, and the ones we buy products from have been ripping us off for years, good economy or not they've always found ways to get our money for more then the product is worth. A great example of this is clothes at the mall or getting your car serviced at the dealer rather then doing it yourselves

Until the economic crash this past year, my company gave raises on evaluation of 25 cents, 50 cents, or $1 if you were really good

Now the raises are 10 cents, 15 cents, 25 cents. And raises more the 10 cents have to be approved by corporate. My last raise was 25 cents at my manager's insistence, corporate barely approved it but I still got it
