I visited Aria and City Center again a few times and my impression is improving. The place is much busier than it was when it first opened and when there are a lot of people milling about and gaming it feels different than when it was empty. I ate at Beso and sat in the outdoor patio area and it was quite nice.

Here is the latest on what is going on with CityCenter and some of the surrounding casino's.
CityCenter’s opening is being felt, even as visitor volume grows

With more hotel rooms in Las Vegas than bodies to fill them, the evidence is growing that CityCenter is stealing more business from other resorts than it is creating.

I enjoyed my experience at the Aria, I went to American Fish and the food was fantastic. There were quite a few people walking around when I was there.

My sister in law stayed at the Aria and enjoyed it.

I got a chance to visit there before being deployed. I will definitely be back to stay in one of the rooms. Its gonna be a surprise for my wife when I get back.

One thing that I noticed is that it seemed as if most people walk around city center like its a museum. Somewhat confused state of mind. Kinda like they dont know how to enjoy the surroundings. Especially the water display.

This can very much hurt Las Vegas in the long run.

You know, my opinion of City Center is improving as well. I've been there three times now.

It's just SO DIFFERENT than what we are used to here in town. The architecture, the furnishings, the art, the decorations..not anything to compare it to with any other property.

I've heard people say they hate it, "it's too stark" and I've heard people say "it's just GORGEOUS", so, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Normally, I take to all our new props immediately, I love them all right away. This one though has had to "grow" on me, but it's getting there now.

And yes, it was quite a few people walking all over when we were last there (on a weekend)

LOL!!!! That's exactly how I would describe it. It's definitely a different feel. The water fall display is really cool but it's kind of weird how it's tucked into side by the escalators.

I like City Center/Aria but I don't care for the Crystals. I like Aria because it's not like the gaudy hotels in Vegas that looks like your drunk grandmother decorated.

It is dark and gloomy in Aria, and there is nothing there to set the place apart from the other casinos on the strip. I think the other MGM properties are much nicer and livelier. Planet Hollywood, and even the Flamingo blows that place away. I was wondering why all the people hired there have disappeared, but now I know the reason. Both of my friends from Arizona were also disappointed because they were really looking forward to seeing it, but they left in disgust.
I can't help but wonder what neat old buildings they had to destroy to create this monster. Yuck. It is ugly and has no soul.

They blew up the cheesy Boardwalk Hotel with the faux rollercoaster in the front which by the way should have been sent to Branson, it would have fit in nicely there.
