Which of the two(Flamingo or Sahara) were considered "high end"?

You know what would make a great Twilight Zone episode...someone riding the monorail to the last stop, getting out, and finding The Sahara, and The Strip, as it existed in 1955...with The Rat Pack performing, Real Elvis Presley, Dean Martin, etc., old mechanical slot machines...and people dressed up and all flashy.

Just had a mental picture of crossover scene. The people step off the monorail, trying to take in what happened with classic cars going by and whatnot.... meanwhile the air raid siren is going off in the distance, then there is a big flash.. they look up and see a mushroom cloud off in the distance.

oooh...that's good! Glad to see another TZ fan out there. To this day, it is my favorite TV series of all time.

Flamingo? Riviera? Is Circus Circus considered historic?
I certainly dont consider Riviera or Circus Circus historic. I actually think Riviera was dumpier than Sahara.

To answer your question, if it was still 2004, I would say Flamingo. Thats why Harrah's bought Barbary Coast (now Bills), they want to put some HUGE city center type of thing on that whole block where Bills/Flamingo/IP/Harrah's is...

Vegas has too many rooms right now is the bottom line and with oil prices where they are, flights are getting ridiculous. Flights to vegas have gone up $300 for me since I last flew out there in February.

Before anything else gets torn down, you would think they would finish Echelon (stardust) and whatever they were building next to Sahara.

The only reason Harrahs ended up with the Barbary was due to the land sale Boyd needed for the Echelon project.
