Does anybody know what will happen to the old Sahara hotel/casino? I noticed it was closed over the summer. It's sad to see these old nostalgic casinos closing.

Anything can happen with Sahara at this point. True, permits have been issued for renovation. But, that merely provides an exercisable option for the owner to hold in his bag of future choices.

I want to see the Sahara/SLS reborn. I'll be back there in a flash if it is. Yet, I'm not going to believe progress is happening until I see construction workers on site.

Good idea...instead of using a player's card, they could use their public assistance benefits cards and have the money deducted right from there.

Just don't expect waitress service for free drinks while you're gambling.

OMG, I hope this is a joke. I heard they might try to re-open the Sahara.

It's supposed to be renovated and reopened. I doubt anyone is doing nuke and rebuilds anymore (or for at least a good long time.) They'll try to get it cleaned up and reopened as cheaply as possible, and grind out some cash flow.

If it's gotten to the point where the most profitable use for a property on the strip is section 8 housing, they might as well let the town dry up and blow away.
