Mystic Hope this works out but yea they do penalize you for not working while at home with child. They don't really care what the reason is. I had an arguement months ago when I thought I was moving to Tn. They told me I had to move there and work for 2 yrs before I could get a mortgage! It didn't matter that I have had my business for 30+ yrs and it goes where I go.

Hold up. I've only been working here since Dec. '07. Before that I did not work. I simply had to write a letter stating that I was home with my child. Don't sweat it. It must be who you are talking to. Don't panic. Call JT.

Hi to everyone!

Thinking about gailli's grandbaby and smiling at the raindrops.

Back to work...

That's what they told me originally too, so that's why it's so obnoxious now! It is JT's office I am talking to--her underwriter or whatever...she just told me that I should know whether or not that is "acceptable" by this afternoon or tomorrow.

Hik, did they HAVE to use your income as well as Fred's? Or would you have qualified on his alone? That's what she says is the hold up.

Yes. They used both because Fred is self-employed. I mean don't talk to the underwriter, talk to JT. I think we only needed last year's tax returns. That all seems so different.

Congrats on the new grandbaby Gailli!
I like the name, although he'll probably hate learning to spell it!
