lots of choices in a dense area of Huntsville, Main Event, Stars and Strikes, Dave and Busters, Altitude, High Point Climbing and Fitness, and the Orion Amphitheater, Touchstar Cinemas under construction. Need to link them all together with a bike/greenway if possible.

I dunno about the Touchstar, looks to me like that are busily not building anything......

Hopefully the millions being spent on the bridge across 565 don’t stretch to Midtown. Maybe if the greenway started at Midtown and headed North or West.

Speaking of 565 ... will the overhead sign that was destroyed by the dump truck a couple years ago (just west of Research Park Blvd) ever be replaced? They've had a temporary portable sign there for quite some time, but it's not very informative. Shouldn't the contractor who owned the truck be reponsible for paying for the replacement, and not ALDOT?

It’s the pedestrian bridge in a grant. But it’s going to cross 431 vs 565.

Looks like a much bigger version of the one that was built in Greenville, SC.

Blue River Development out of Atlanta is planning a new project on Research Park Blvd, (actually the MLK named portion and bounded by Kelly Cemetery Rd and Pulaski Pike). Should add many more cars to a very dangerous intersection at MLK/Research Park on a road that was promised to be controlled access.
150 townhomes, 340 apartments and 270 single family homes and retail, called Symphony Park.
Also planning a 170 apartment complex in Decatur.

I'd almost forgotten about that project. I don't really care for it, but if the object is to "extend" downtown across the Parkway (there was a post a couple months ago about a mid-rise being built in the SW quadrant of Governors/Memorial Parkway) then I can see the use for it. Plus, it will make the Lowe Mill area more accessible to downtown. It could conceivably even cut down the the number of people being hit by cars trying to cross the Parkway. It's going to have to be safe for pedestrians though - that's of prime importance.

I-422 apparently has a much higher priority.

That'll be the first substantial development on that stretch of roadway. Is it on the north side or the south side of Research Park?
