At least Orlando and Austin have one major Interstate. We only have a spur that's used for local traffic. Going north/south isn't all that bad, but east/west is quite difficult. The Atlanta freeway needs to be back on the table with top priority.
When I keep hearing about an interstate to Atlanta from Huntsville people, I keep hearing about an east-west route that would meet up with I-75. But entering Atlanta from that direction is such a pain compared to from I-20 (I've into way more stop-and-go accident traffic on 75). Would people be up for a SE-route through Albertville that joins up with I-20 at Anniston instead?

Yes, entering from the north is much harder than east west. But I'd still rather intersect 75 than going south to 20. Going to 75 is much more direct.

US 72 is nearly interstate standards to South Pittsburgh. It would not be difficult to designate it as interstate spur (I-724) and complete the sections that need upgrades.
Any other routes are really not feasible due to terrain and cost. Imagine the chaos going over the Tennessee River , Albertville, Boaz, Gadsden. Just building the road out of Huntsville would take decades and destroy lots of environmental areas.

Memorial parkway , north of Winchester should be controlled access to the state line with bypasses around Meridianville and Hazel Green. A Federal Highway that hasn’t been improved significantly since the 1960’s.
Hwy 53 could be the direct bypass from Nashville travelers. It’s crazy busy in the mornings and afternoons. There is a fenced compound at Old Railroad and 53 to handle the construction traffic. Plenty of room to expand 53 to 4 lanes.

LEDs are pretty much a breakthrough invention. Beautiful and inexpensive to operate.

this is a great addition and will create more interaction between the VBC and the park. Before with the garage there it was a concrete blockade, now it will be active with people and restaurants

A larger than usual Starbucks will be part of this project.
The plans calls for a Starbucks with outdoor café space on Monroe Street and indoor seating areas.

The location will be directly connected to the hotel, but should open ahead of The Moxy.
The development will also have three different dining amenities, including a rooftop bar.

A StayAPT hotel is planned for the I-565/Greenbrier Rd interchange on Success Dr. which is south of the interstate off of Swancott Rd. This is the second location of this type hotel in the Huntsville area.
