Yeah, that's $225000 to update the airport master plan. While putting infrastructure in place to support commercial passenger service could be a part of that plan, it won't get them ready for passenger service in the next 23 months. Meacham's terminal is basically an office building. They'll need to put security, baggage handling, gates, parking, ground transportation, etc. in place. And getting the money in place to make that happen for 2021 with a mayor and council that have been very non-committal concerning Meacham passenger and very loyal to AA and DFW Airport is going to be a tall hill to climb. I'm all for service at Meacham, but it's not as simple as an airline simply deciding they want to offer service there.

There's a Star-Telegram article on it and all, but this was pretty much common knowledge as soon as Dickies Arena opened:

The Convention Center "UFO" will be torn down.
(I know there might be a paywall, but again, we all pretty much knew this was coming)

BNSF is quietly in the process of moving its headquarters from Fort Worth to Cypress Waters in Irving. It’s hard to get a read on what direction Fort Worth is going in.

BNSF Logistics is moving from Flower Mound to Cypress Waters. You sure you aren't mixing that up?

AS much as I think that a Gas Station is the worst thing that could be built there, I have to admit that I prefer one big gas station such as QT instead of a bunch of small random ones all over the place. I really dislike the Texaco across the street, restrooms never work, air pump doesn't work. Closes at 11 I could go on.

1. I'm also glad QT is going to be built there as I and many others hold it in high regard... almost to Buc-ee's level.

2. I really, REALLY hope that they keep this design since not only is it different but it's also built to urban standards. This is going to be in downtown, so this shouldn't be built like every other QT. Having the store part of it on the corner is how it's supposed to be.

3. I guarantee you that Texaco will be gone within a year and a half of this QT opening, or at least getting ready to, and being replaced with something more... useful.

The only thing I hate is that I wish they at least kept a portion of the old Champions Spring building that was there and incorporate it into the design, but I'm fine with this.
