I made penne pasta with Sausage and Pumpkin sauce last night. With that we had a cucumber, tomato and yellow bell pepper salad with fresh basil, feta cheese and chick peas.. Dressing was olive oil and lemon juice. Tonight is leftovers of the pasta dish. No more salad I did my own version of same salad that a friend made at a BBQ 2 weeks ago. I omitted the cilantro and added fresh basil shreds because I can't stand the taste of Cilantro and I added yellow bell pepper.

It's last call for melons, sweet corn and tomatoes in MN so that's been our main focus. We've been eating sloppy joes,
BLTs and other sandwiches with them. Today we have peaches and ice cream for dessert.

I'd like to do some baking with fresh plums. I always think of Alm and the German recipes this time of year.

Meanwhile waiting in the wings, our tastebuds are warming up for our familiar fall meals. Soups and stews, roasts and chops, meatloaf and squash, the Oktoberfest flavors.

Salad again, maybe a baked potato if I get hungry again. Too many cookies.

My favorite lazy chicken..boneless, skinless breasts or thighs or both, cooked on low in crockpot with large can of green enchilada sauce, chopped onion & cilantro. Shred up the chicken, serve over rice. Side of cucumber-tomato salad.
