I know 16-1/2 years is a long life for a cat, but it's never enough.

I will probably just heat up one of my homemade frozen meals -- I haven't thawed one in advance but I think the microwave will be fine. I know I have some of the chicken with smoky harissa sauce ...
So sorry about your kitty Karen. Losing them is so hard.

Tonight I'm making something from Half Baked Harvest - I love her recipes!

The up coming week will begin a lot of testing of TikTok inspired veggie dishes.

Tonight is roasted potatoes, broccoli, asparagus, and edamame with a fresh dill/lemon dressing.

Sounds nice and certainly healthy:-). I am omniverous, but at a minimum I try to include a solid veggie portion, and sometimes I'll have two veggie dishes and then skip a starch with my protein, which is usually poultry or fish...

Yesterday turned into chicken, potatoe, onion, mushroom chowder. I was too groggy to do much. Both of us have what was diagnosed as The Crudd.

Today may be home made pork potstickers and egg drop soup. Thank you freezer.

OT - Hang in there Karen! You have to be there for the others.

I may throw some boneless chicken breasts on the grill later on. Think I'll slather some barbecue sauce on them. Still deciding side dishes, but I may go with a grilled squash/zucchini mix.

Elnina, your pictures make me drool! I wish I had the restaurant choices that you have, but I'd have to drive pretty far to find them. (Other than that, living in the boonies of New Hampshire isn't bad!)

And many heartfelt thanks to those of you who wrote sweet comments (here or elsewhere) about my beloved Berkeley. I miss his wails (he was physically gorgeous, looked like full-bred Siamese but was the Humane society version of that , but his WAILING -- oh my gosh -- one of the most UNPLEASANT sounds I've ever heard), but whenever I feel like I'm going to plunge into deep sorrow, I remind myself that if I'd kept him alive, that would have been for me, not for him. But as all of you who have pets know, it's very hard.

Anyway, tonight I'm having the chicken-thigh-and-corn-on-the-cob meal again. I may stir-fry some other veggies as well -- I think I have some green beans to use up!

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday!

I'm so sorry
