I desperately need comfort food today ...I just had to say goodbye to my 16-1/2-year-old kitty Berkeley, whom I got when he was 10 weeks old back in 2007.
I know 16-1/2 years is a long life for a cat, but it's never enough.
I will probably just heat up one of my homemade frozen meals -- I haven't thawed one in advance but I think the microwave will be fine. I know I have some of the chicken with smoky harissa sauce ...
SO asked for comfort food - breaded chicken breast, mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy,, beans and rabbit food. I do not have the time to bake bread from crumbs today so it ill be bacon wrapped chicken.
Big salad, lots of veggies, grilled chicken breast.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of your kitty - pets can be just like one of the family...
Maryland crab cakes were on sale at the supermarket - $2.40 each!, so 2 pan fried crab cakes, with a sauce of lemon juice, mayonnaise, and cilantro; then 2 salads, a fresh tomato and vidalia onion with French vinagrette, plus some leftover Trader Joe's Elote salad.

I made 1.5x recipes of this "Strawberry Oatmeal Bars" in a 13x9 pan, omitting the optional sugar glaze. My doesn't look as pretty as hers, but I gotta say it tastes nice, especially with the fully ripened local strawberries that I picked over lunch time. https://www.wellplated.com/strawberry-oatmeal-bars/
Before and after pic here. That's a heaping quart of strawberries and I used about half of them in these bars. The recipe is quite easy - it's a sandwich, and you use the same stuff as both the base and the topping, with chopped strawberries in-between.
