We havent eaten yet but it looks great; I have it in the warming oven now until we are ready to eat. It smells delicious. Someone said they added green pepper.....I can see how that would have been good....I didnt have a pepper. I did up the 1/4 cup to 1/3 and everything else accordingly.
Well, my son had seconds of the pork chops & asparagus (shocking), but my husband ate quietly...requesting some of the plain rice in a bowl with butter. This was my hint that he didn't like the pork.
I just asked why he didn't like it - he said "what's to like, it was pork chops with bbq sauce?".
It cooked just fine in the oven. I used 2 cloves of garlic as called for but one of the cloves was really big......I thought it was too strong of garlic....the taste of ginger was good. I didnt find the recipe exceptional in any way. partner who really doesnt like sauces complimented it and ate it all....but I felt badly for him.....I know that the sticky glaze on the meat and the green bean casserole......Not his thing. I won't do that again, or not for a long time.
Oh, a seaside lobster shack sounds nice. I live in such a po-dunk place and there's nowhere to go, it seems. I love eating outdoors while watching boats go by. Oh, well. Better to have and lost than to never have had, right? Stir-fry for us tonight.
well last night we grilled caribbean jerk chicken and had steamed broccoli and buttered garlic noodles to go with.....tonight we had mexican -- carnitas burrito for me (pork was too dry) and a mixed enchilada plate for the BF. the place was okay, but not as good as our local taquerias and our tamale place
Got home late from exploring the area for new fishing holes so instead of bothering cutting up the chicken breasts I just put them in a bit of fresh lemon juice topped with fresh rosemary and let them marinate for about 1/2 hour then put them in foil pouches and baked them at 450 for about 20 minutes. I made the pasta and pesto for a side dish with garlic cheese bread. Turned out good. The fresh rosemary did the trick! My cat brought in another baby Mockingbird first thing this AM but I think it is hurt so I don't have a lot of hope for the poor little guy. The first one is still eating well and growing fast. I found that one before my cats did luckily! I'll be glad when "baby-season" is over and done with. It just breaks my heart when my cats hurt the babies!! I guess that's just natures way....sigh....

Poor bird. Last week I saw my cat leap from under a bush and snatch a hummingbird off a branch. I was horrified for the hummer, but I had to admire the deftness of the old 14 yr old cat.
Morning all, tonight I think we are doing tuna casserole. Woke up tired today so nothing too fancy tonight. Hope everyone has a good day.
