Yep.
If the people on vacation are able to fill out the required forms and get ahead in line, while your sister for whatever reason was not able to do so, sure, why not? You snooze you lose.
The lady on vacation did nothing wrong.

If it was "you snooze you lose" I wouldn't be on here arguing in the least.

DeSantis required people back to work in person in schools and then removed them from the list to get vaccines. Then he allowed vacationers to get it, which further pushes back the dates that people who expose themselves everyday.

Yep. Just like I said a million times about the NY nursing home situation. No outcry from pundits when the measure was passed. Almost 100% Monday quarterbacking.

DeSantis just posted this on facebook.

It is what it is at the point...whatever...

but the argument for vaccinating 20 something healthcare workers, police officers, etc. is that you don't want a significant number of them knocked out for a week due to a positive test. They need to be able to go to work.

Theres still millions and millions of people who havent gotten it yet. It takes time. Every single vaccine thats given, no matter what state or who they are is one less person who can spread the virus.

2 weeks, not one. But yes. And the fact that if they get it and are asymptomatic they spread it to more people one day than anyone who is working from home or staying at home (seniors)

It's not a matter of "you snooze you lose" for someone under 65 that's not a front line healthcare worker. A 59 year old teacher cannot get on any list to get the vaccine unless some kind of exception for serious comorbidities. The Florida Governor has signed an executive order about the priority group. People under 65 are not allowed to get the vaccine unless health worker or severe comorbidities.

Sounds great to me. The science is clear, and we are vaccinating those who are most at risk of death first. I'd LOVE to get the vaccine right now, but I have zero interest in jumping in front of an elderly person who is far more likely to face serious complications from COVID than me.

Everyone is going back to work. That's how it is. Going back to work doesn't mean you get to jump ahead. Teachers included. Though teachers have lost a ton of respect from myself. Everyone else is back at work, but teachers crying and whining about it every step of the way. It's unfortunate.
