HALLELUJAH!!!! I think a Perry/Romney ticket would get this country out of the crap Obama has made WORSE!!!!!!
Most Americans don't know what a billion dollars represent. They surely have no clue what a trillion is. I doubt that Superman could pull this nation out of the ditch recent politicians have driven us into. However, if the GOP nomination is Perry, this Independent will vote for him.

That's almost as scary as a Perry/Bachmann ticket. there's no place in politics for a bible thumper. Ron Paul in 2012.

I agree. Perry will definitely beat the snot out of Obama and I am glad to see a real experienced leader step up. Perry is just what the doctor ordered to get our country moving again. I would however prefer he choose Rubio as VP.

Yes, I'm a liberal. I think this is well known. I have also lived all over the country. Here are just a few of the reasons Perry would never beat Obama:

-Texas is in a lot of debt. How can you argue Obama's model doesn't work when yours is arguably worse?
-Perry participated in a prayer rally that appeared to be Christian only.
-Perry is afraid to debate.
-Perry has created the most jobs in the country. If he runs for president, he will be exposed as a fraud as so many of these jobs pay nothing and have no benefits.
-Perry can't tout his toughness on illegal immigration as all he does is waffle on the issue
-A lot of states that could potentially turn red in 2012 will not vote for another Texan
Bottom line is this- I don't give a damn about what or what not Perry did. What voters care about is RESULTS and Perry gets results. A state that is growing in leaps and bounds and creating thousands of JOBS and has an unemployment rate that is about 1/2 of the national (Obama) rate which, BTW is still climbing. Bottom line is that Obama could have won against the far right candidates like Palin or Bachman but he cannot beat Perry. No way will he win a 2nd term.

The second Perry announces, Bachman and Palin are done. The liberals were hoping Bachman would run because Obama would have probably won a 48 state rout if she was the candidate. Sorry liberals to give you the bad news that we have a REAL candidate now.

Unfortunately, Perry appears to be just another big-government globalist war-hawk:

Rick Perry, the “hawk internationalist”

Quote:
"He has no sympathy for the neo-isolationist impulses emanating from some quarters of the Republican Party."
If that's truly his stance, toss him in the trash; he'll just be yet another warmonger who busts the budget with foolish foreign interventions and an expansive military-industrial state.

I have lived in Texas for over 30 something years & have personally only known 1 or 2 people receiving food stamps.

We are a wealthy state no doubt about it.
