This has to be one of the most overhyped 6" snowstorms I can remember. Everyone is freaking out at the store, on the news and on this message board.

Does get pretty crazy. I was a bit shocked when I saw how people reacted up here. As if most of them werent native or something to New England.

Yeah. The hype is getting worse every year. THe governor in ny shut down the entire new york thruway from albany south and interstate 84. Albany gets this stuff ALL the time. Really strange how we are becoming. It used to be more reasonable like stay off the roads if possible and drive very slowly. Now it's like we are on a tropical low lying island with a cat 4 hurricane coming at us every single time a 6 inch storm comes at us.

That happened once when I was living in the north boston area, almost everything closed, a fire truck got stuck on our road. We had 3 times what was predicted. We didn't even own a decent shovel cause we never needed it. People were digging out cars with mop buckets. Then all the neighbors walked to walgreens when they opened and went on a shopping spree.

Today the wind is howling in Terryville, frigid cold.

20:1 ratios in Hartford. If 1/2 moisture falls from sky tonight that = 10" of snow. Ironically NWS NJ just raised some areas of NJ to get up to 10 now. I Wonder if Upton has to do the same.
