I'm with Cam at about 7". No plows to be seen either. I'm completely buried which is unusual. We kept up very well with the blizzard (25") last February. A rare call out for me. Metro north running greatly limited service. I also believe the tappan zee bridge to be closed.

Seems like a dud in Wallingford for snowfall, disappointing. A few inches but nothing completely covered. It is and has been very windy so the drifts are out there but the temps are insanely low.

Yeah, its tough. I took 4 measurements in different locations and have a 6.0" average. Can't believe it feels like 13 below zero out there. Heading out again with No jacket of course.

4.7" at Islip yesterday breaks a daily record and misses the Top 10 highest 1 day snowfalls for January. I'm sure their entire total might make one of the biggest January storms for them.

After I dig more I'll grab some reports and records unless someone gets them first

I can see I-95 and U.S. 7 from my bedroom window. They are plowed. Plenty of cars are driving on them at speeds of about 40-50 mph. The only problem is that my apartment complex is NOT plowed. Ugh. Guess I'll be working from home, which I'm not a fan of.

Idiots. They should have the police enforcing snow speed limits. Roads are a mess. Accidents/spin outs everywhere. Welcome to ct. The speed limit on DRY roads on 95 is 55 and these jackass's are doing 50? Even if a plow has passed, there are ice patches everywhere. Even if parts appear dry.

I drove into Hartford, which took me not too much longer than my usual commute since cars weren't clogging up the roads. Secondaries are snow covered and highways are relatively good, though the blowing snow covers up the bare pavement in many spots. Be careful of large open areas where blowing snow will reduce your visibility. If you are comfortable driving in snow, you'll be fine. Everyone I saw was reducing speed, keeping large following distances, and otherwise behaving well. If you are a nervous driver or your vehicle does not handle 1-2" on the roads very well, then do the rest of us a favor and stay home

Edited to add: I drive on secondaries and Route 2 but can see 84. I can't speak to what's going on in other areas of the state.

Hmm, my boss said to use our judgment about coming in, but that if the roads are good by late morning, it's probably worth coming in...so not really sure what to do...I live in Torrington and commute to Simsbury via Route 44 up through New Hartford and Canton, and then some back roads...

meg- I drive through some hilly terrain near my house, which was doable but special attention/care was needed and I have AWD and all season tires. Once I made it up the one huge hill I need to navigate, I was good with the more minor elevation changes. I am guessing things will be a lot better by late morning, say 10-11 am. State workers are coming in at 930 am and they are usually fairly conservative with calling off work, so if they are in it probably is doable for most people. You know your own situation/terrain/local geography better than any of us, so use your best judgement!
