I knew you would like that graphic.

They were colder in 1934 but since I was only finding the last time they were as cold as this morning... Feb 2011 minimum was -5. So this mornings low only matched that so it wasn't coldest in decades there... HOWEVER... BDL hit -7° on Feb 6th this year and that was the coldest Feb temp since 1996.

Their Feb record is -24° in 1943 2/16/43.

That day in 1934 the Northeast got frozen Hartford hit -15°. Worcester and Hartford Share the same record Feb low temp of -24°

No idea, I honestly haven't looked at anything. So much weather going on.
Did you see the latest radar?
Nuts. National snow cover has been increased and south more. Many 4-12" snow totals

Odd note on tomorrow. The snow plume consensus continues to show 5-6 inches for both Oxford and Bridgeport. Something is off here.

Feels like we reversed the Calendar like Superman reversed the spin of the Earth. Feels and looks like we entered January. March in 2 weeks?

2nd longest streak of snowpack 10" or more at the CT coast .

Rivers freezing over now they should be defrosting instead.

January 25th was last time we were above normal

Here's the current temp departures.

So I dug up the pic I took of my thermometer when it was below 0 a few years back.

Jan 17, 2009, I have -8.6 degrees

Wunderground says low for my zip code was -2 that day.

Lately it seems my lows are higher than the apps etc

Gotcha, thanks!

Regarding your 2nd point, theirs still all over the place. NWS and those FB blogs I follow seem to think bust north of Philly and especially so even immediately north of NYC and LI. But as someone here noted, snow plumes think otherwise and radar looks further north than I expected. Also seeing talk about how the whole thing could be out of here by mid-morning, well see.

I havent mentioned schools as most are on "February break" of some sort, though a few started the break before today and are coming back tomorrow, Greenwich and Trumbull are two I know of like that.

I was doing this on my phone and it wasnt letting me scroll back easily without losing what I type, sorry....

A friend of mine who lives in Raleigh, NC told me they just said on the 6pm news the predicted high for Thursday there is 17 and it would be the coldest high for ANY day in over 100 years! They are also giving a 50% chance of a subzero low there on Friday morning, it would be the latest in the winter they ever had one (my friend says the TV claimed the last subzero there period was on Jan 21, 1985 but he's not sure if its correct)

17? that would be about 37 degrees below normal.
