I see Accuweather dropped my area from 6-10" (sat thru Monday) to 2-4" over those days. I am perfectly fine with that. 42 more days until one of my favorite days comes around...........

NICE.

Interesting that the Airmass itself is not impressive for this time of year, so 2 factors involved with this mornings cold...
  • Prime radiational cooling. (clear skies and no winds allowed all heat and air to escape the surface into space)
  • Snowpack. Like being in the freezer with ice cubes.

Seems like there's a north trend lately from days out. (last 2 events as well.)

Yesterday WPC places clipper Sunday morning south of Chicago...... Now they have it over Chicago. I bet you their forecast went from all snow Sat-Sunday to now a mix and/or rain.

So do we need a low to be exiting Virginia 4 days out so it can stay south of us here day of? lol

Chicago did change to a rain forecast, though still a close call there....and down in Philly they are now talking about rain and FIFTY for a temp.

And the proof of that is the big difference in temps in Danbury/Hartford/Poughkeepsie vs. the CT coast and NYC (though upper single numbers/low teens still cold).

Looked at the latest NAM, GFS, EURO right now. NAM says we are dry this weekend and most of Monday. LOL

GFS and EURO says Monday is the snowy day.

All 3 show the snow to stay in northern New England.

--------------------------------

A RECORD MINIMUM TEMPERATURE OF MINUS 7F DEGREES WAS SET AT
BRADLEY/HARTFORD CT THIS MORNING AT 352 AM. THIS BREAKS THE OLD
RECORD OF MINUS 5F SET IN 1988 AND 1910.

A RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE OF 9 DEGREES WAS SET AT ISLIP NY YESTERDAY.
THIS TIES THE OLD RECORD OF 9 SET IN 1994.
