Seeing 30% chance of rain/snow being mentioned by BOX for Hartford next Mon - Wed, which is pretty high probability this far out. Another false alarm or any real snow potential?

Kids wait at bus stops outside these days? Not from what I see. In the rare instance where there isn't a bus stop at every driveway, I will instead see lines of cars parked along the street and blocking driveways, idling, waiting for the bus to show up. Only then will the kids get out to get in the bus. I once saw someone who drove to the end of their driveway till the bus came, and then drove back up the driveway after the kid was picked up.

And please explain why bus drivers don't leave when kids are late anymore. Damn kids just saunter down the street without a care in the world.

Soft is an understatement.

Baby it's cold outside!

Hate to bust your bubble but schools were closed up there that whole week! You were not allowed to travel. Nobody handles that well. It would not have been any different than here.

As for why schools may delay tomorrow there is also concern that buses wont start.

I'm perfectly aware of that. The interstates were shut down. That was 7 FEET of snow in ONE STORM. Ct would be shut down for a month or two! That's not normal for buffalo. It's like when we got 3 feet in storm in hamden. Buffalo is not valdez, ak.

This should warm you up.

Just 4 short months ago dewpoints were in the 70s and air was hot & muggy feeling like 90s.

In just 4 short months maybe we see that again.

Are you just TRYING to fight?(over absolutely nothing since buffalo can clearly handle more snow than CT )

Not at all.. fact is, Buffalo can handle more snow than we can. Of course , they should since they are in a snow belt and we are not. So, I'm just trying to say let's not compare here to Buffalo as you attempted to do.We handle the snow fine here for what we get. It is all relative. Go to Atlanta and 2 inches will close school for a week. Go to Canada and it's just the opposite.

Not to nitpick but didn't the Buffalo area get support from several other states including ours? So I'm not sure how CT is "less" prepared for it.

So many maps & numbers to show... Here's 1

We don't get these temps here often, in fact we don't every year. 5° here! Deck is cracking. Wind chill 10 below zero.

Current temps using NWS Color table. Teens down to gulf states. Single digits to NorthEast coast.

Boston did it. They went below zero without a snowpack! Airmass a bit colder than last year.

BDL hit 0
Danbury 3

20-30 below normal from Gulf to New England
